In lieu of the annual yudansha seminar, Midwest Aikido Center in Chicago is hosting a special celebration seminar commemorating Yamada Sensei's 50th Anniversary of teaching aikido in the USA.

Yamada Sensei and Peter Bernath Sensei will be the guest instructors.  All ranks and affiliations are welcome.

Seminar sessions will be held Sat & Sun, 4/26-4/2714.  There will also be a pre-seminar class on Fri, 4/25/14 at 6:30pm.  Download the flyer for more information, or go to the Midwest Aikido Center website.

There will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center on Sat, 4/26 and Mon, 4/28 to allow students to attend this seminar.

In conjunction with KSU Aikido and Tatsumaki Aikikai, we're honored to host Peter and Penny Bernath Sensei of Florida Aikikai along with Jack Hayes and Jayne Thompson Sensei of Thiel College for the weekend of April 4-6, 2014.

The seminar will be held at Kansas State University, Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex ("The Rec"). Download the attached flyer, or go to www.tatsumakiaikido.org to register online. Early registration is due by March 15 (although you can register up to the day of the seminar).

There will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center that weekend.

There will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center on Sat, March 2.  Instead, a special class followed by testing from 10am-noon will be held at our sister dojo, KSU Aikido/Tatsumaki Aikikai in Manhattan, KS.  Dan-Sensei will be instructing an additional class on Sunday from 10-noon at the same location.

Practice will be at Body First Tennis and Fitness Center located at 3615 Claflin Rd, Manhattan, KS 66503.  We will be carpooling and staying over night.

Capital Aikido, Lincoln is hosting its annual special Kagami Baraki class on Saturday, Feburary 23rd from 3:30pm to 5:30 pm.  Immediately after that class will be a pot luck dinner in the common room of the dojo.  All are welcome to practice, join in the pot luck, or both!  Musicians feel encouraged to bring your instruments!

Special class this Sat, 11/17/12.  Please come to class fully dressed out at 11:30.  Testing will be held for Chushin Aikikai, and we will be joined by fellow students from our sister dojo, KSU Aikido/Tatsumaki Aikikai from Manhattan.  Class will finish about 2:30, followed by a late lunch.

On Friday, September 7, our sister dojo (Tatsumaki Aikikai/KSU Aikido) in Manhattan, KS, will have a visit from Michael Sheahon, 7th Dan, USAF Shihan.

This is a unique opportunity for dojo members to experience a small class with a Shihan.

Practice that evening will be on indoor Tennis Court 1 at Body First Tennis and Fitness Center in Manhattan, KS (see below).    Please arrive around 6:35 for set up.  Class will be from from 7-8:30 pm.

We will have testing on Saturday, May 19.  After class, we plan to get together for a BBQ to say good-bye to David, who will be moving out of town.  Bring whatever you would like to grill to Elmwood Park, along with a side dish.  The more the merrier!
