In conjunction with KSU Aikido and Tatsumaki Aikikai, we're honored to host Peter and Penny Bernath Sensei of Florida Aikikai along with Jack Hayes and Jayne Thompson Sensei of Thiel College for the weekend of April 4-6, 2014.

The seminar will be held at Kansas State University, Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex ("The Rec"). Download the attached flyer, or go to www.tatsumakiaikido.org to register online. Early registration is due by March 15 (although you can register up to the day of the seminar).

There will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center that weekend.

On Saturday, Feb 1, Shuurin Dojo (Omaha, NE) is hosting a free workshop instructed by Neil Segal Sensei of Aikijuko Dojo in Iowa. Please contact Claudia Sensei at 402-630-3169 for more information. RSVP requested due to space limitations.

There will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center. Students are requested to attend the workshop.

University of Iowa Aikikai is hosting Chuck Renner and Didier Bertrand from Nov. 8-10, 2013.

Classes start:
Friday - 6pm
Saturday - 10am and 2pm
Sunday - 10am

Mockingbird Hills Community Center is closed to the general public the week of May 12-May 18, 2013. However, the  building is still open for aikido classes. The front desk may not be staffed, so call Dan Sensei if you cannot locate us (we may be practicing outside). Locker rooms will also still be available for use during this time.

The community center will also be closed on Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day. There will be no class.

No class on Sat, May 18, so that students may attend the Clyde Takeguchi Seminar in Lincoln, NE.

Reminder, there will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center on Saturday, May 18 so that students my attend Capital Aikido - Lincoln's Clyde Takeguchi Seminar from Fri, May 17 to Sun, May 19, 2013.

Jayne Ozeki Sensei, 7th Dan Shidoin from New York Aikikai, will be joining University of Iowa Aikikai in April 2013.  This will be her last seminar in Iowa City, probably her last seminar in the Midwest, and possibly her last seminar ever. Note that Ozeki Sensei is teaching Friday night and Saturday all day. Knut Bauer, 5th dan, Shidoin, from Central Illinois Aikikai (CIA), is teaching Sunday.  There will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center on Sat, April 6 so that we may attend this seminar.

There will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center on Sat, March 2.  Instead, a special class followed by testing from 10am-noon will be held at our sister dojo, KSU Aikido/Tatsumaki Aikikai in Manhattan, KS.  Dan-Sensei will be instructing an additional class on Sunday from 10-noon at the same location.

Practice will be at Body First Tennis and Fitness Center located at 3615 Claflin Rd, Manhattan, KS 66503.  We will be carpooling and staying over night.

Capital Aikido, Lincoln is hosting its annual special Kagami Baraki class on Saturday, Feburary 23rd from 3:30pm to 5:30 pm.  Immediately after that class will be a pot luck dinner in the common room of the dojo.  All are welcome to practice, join in the pot luck, or both!  Musicians feel encouraged to bring your instruments!

Zanshin Aikido School will be having a grand opening seminar in Independence, Missouri, on March 16th and 17th.  Donovan Waite Shihan from Aikido of Center City is a highly respected member of the United States Aikido Federation's Technical Committee, and travels extensively around the world teaching Aikido.
